Hyundai craft a rival for the world of sports sedan. Rear-wheel and broadband V8 engine delivering world-class driving experience.
Hyundai aims to break paradigms premium car with the North American International Auto Show introduction of its new flagship, the all-new sports sedan Genesis. With capabilities and features comparable to the world's leading premium sport sedans, Genesis will arrive at Hyundai dealerships this summer.
Genesis Hyundai is built on the brand new, performance-oriented rear-wheel-drive architecture. It offers three powerplants, including 3.3-litre and 3.8-litre V6 engines, and Hyundai's all-new 4.6-liter V8 Tau. The Tau will produce an estimated premium of 375 horsepower using fuel and 368 horsepower ordinary without the help of all the major competitors in the specific production of 79.5 to 81.0 horsepower per liter. Rivalise with more expensive technologies luxury sedans, Genesis showcases features such as XM NavTraffic, adaptive front-lighting system (AFLS), Smart Cruise Control, Lexicon ® audio systems and electronic active head restraints (for a complete list of features, see page 8).
"Although Genesis will compete for customers with cars like the Chrysler 300 and Pontiac G8, our engineering benchmarks were Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Infiniti M, and Lexus GS," said John Krafcik, vice president , product development and strategic planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Genesis provides a powerful combination of performance, luxury and value. We believe it has the potential to be extremely disruptive force in the large luxury sedan and the virtual segments."
Genesis marks a new era for Hyundai. His brand new rear-wheel drive architecture will create more products in other segments, as suggested by the Genesis Concept Coupe presented at the Auto Show in Los Angeles in November 2007.

Genesis is built on an all-new rear-wheel-drive architecture, its first application in a model Hyundai US. Genesis has a nearly perfect 53/47 front-to-rear weight distribution for exceptional handling and finer steering characteristics. The rear-wheel-drive layout allowed engineers the car's position front wheels further ahead than its excellent performance handling and steering. Standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the largest sector of new security technologies, enhances the vehicle's driving confidence. Hyundai leads all brands of cars popular in the standard of application of the CES, with more than 70 percent in 2007, sales of Hyundai feature ESC as standard equipment.
Genesis reduces interior noise levels and improve the ride and handling with a more rigid body structure lighter. The use of high strength steel in critical areas in Genesis provides monohull with 12-14 percent more dynamic, the torsional stiffness and a lower body weight than the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz Class E - despite a substantially larger than the cabin or the other of these benchmarks. Hyundai Genesis has more interior volume as Mercedes Benz E-Class and BMW 7 Series.
World Class Tau V8
At the top of Genesis' performances Hyundai is the new Tau 4.6-liter V8 mated to a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC ® manual control. The Tau V8 delivers 375 horsepower estimated to adapt to the demands of performance-oriented consumers. This powertrain combination launch Genesis to 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds. The Tau produces more power and torque than the powerplants found in Lexus GS460, BMW 750i, Audi A8 and Infiniti M45 and has more horsepower per liter than any of its competitors V8. The Tau is built with engines flexibility for the future. Tau future variants may offer the greatest displacement, forced induction options, and other technological improvements.
Lambda strong performance V6
Genesis also provides spirited performance V6 with two options - all-aluminium 3.3-litre and 3.8-litre DOHC V6 engines with an estimated 264 horsepower and 233 lb-ft. The couple and an estimated 290 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque, respectively. To maximize the power spread, engines use Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) intake and exhaust on the camshafts and a new variable intake system (VIS), which helps cylinders breathe so effective at low and high RPM. The breathe better results in off-the-line acceleration and performance of passage, and a remarkable energy efficiency. The V6 engines use an alloy block and cylinder heads for lightweight and thermal efficiency, and have chains timing without scheduled maintenance.
Even with its impressive output, all engines of Genesis are also environmentally friendly, with the completion of all three Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) certification levels.
ADVANCED 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION
Both engines use a V6 Genesis Aisin 6-speed SHIFTRONIC automatic overdrive transmission, which has a lock-up torque converter to improve fuel economy highway. The transmission offers smooth changes and a wide spread of ratios that ideally suit both the characteristics of the engine, including a large sixth-speed overdrive for quiet, efficient highway cruising. Drivers can access the feature SHIFTRONIC ® by moving the gear selector into a barrier. Push the lever forward or pulling it toward the rear of the transmission will shift up or down in sequence, which adds to driver control. A clear LCD reading on the dashboard shows the equipment in use.
The Tau is Genesis V8 mated with a stronger, high-speed ZF 6 speed to handle added power and torque.
Genesis presents a suspension design which is among the most sophisticated and refined anywhere, at any price. The front five-link suspension features upper and lower arm connecting the front wheels to the chassis. This arrangement su articulated creates a virtual pivot axis which reduces dramatically with the rebound undesirable driving and improved responsiveness. The five-link independent rear suspension is equally sophisticated, allowing precise geometry of the suspension for a premium ride and engaging handling prowess. The advanced features of the front and rear suspension are maximized through selective Dampers Amplitude (ASD), allowing flexibility to adjust the damper short trips. The suspension ASD provides:

At the height of its dynamic capacity, Genesis combines strong, sculpted forms that incorporate specific details, natural materials and innovative lighting to provide a well-designed, the premium to the design aesthetics.
HIGH-TECH housing at affordable prices points
The new Genesis 2009 is the most advanced Hyundai ever. From its design and technology of space and go, it offers a wealth of features and performance worthy flagship European and Asian brands, but the book at a price much more accessible. Starting with its lexicon state-of-the-art featuring the audio system LOGIC 7 ® technology, Genesis offers an extraordinary combination of technology, premium appointments, and value. Standard is a soft-touch instrument panel accents of wood, Bluetooth hands-free portable USB interface and / iPod ® auxiliary inputs. A state-of-the-art navigation system with an eight-inch screen is available. The navigation unit is accessed by a user-friendly multi-media controller that also controls the radio. Backup tight spaces and avoid mishaps is much easier with the available backup camera that uses eight-inch display to show the driver a clear view immediately behind the car.
A leather-wrapped dashboard, door panels, console lid and surround the driver in a luxurious environment, while heated and cooled driver's seat offers optimal driving comfort. LEXICON AUDIO SYSTEMS TEAM WITH XM ®, RADIO ™ HD, And Apple to offer unmatched audio performance and choice
Rolls Royce Phantom and Hyundai Motor Genesis are the only brand to offer a Lexicon state-of-the-art featuring the audio system LOGIC 7 ® technology. The Lexicon ® surround sound audio system includes a 12-channel digital amplifier and 17 speakers that produce more than 500 watts of sound audio discrete 7.1. Genesis is also the first to offer popular brand clarity of the digital radio technology HD from the factory. Genesis navigation equipped models also include a 30-gigabyte hard drive and XM NavTraffic. Like every Hyundai 2009, Genesis comes standard with XM Satellite Radio. Auxiliary iPod ® and USB inputs and drivers of vehicles full responsibility for the control and iPods directly from the head of the unit.
Technology advanced lighting
The 2009 Genesis offers Xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights. The benefits include HID lamps greater power for lighting, lighting daylight and the reduction of energy consumption. In addition, the reduction in lines of the new HID headlights are extremely specific, providing maximum visibility night without distracting other drivers. The lights are also equipped with a self-levelling feature that keeps the headlights level regardless of how the vehicle is loaded with passengers or cargo. Genesis also offers a lighting system which allows automatic Front headlamps swivel automatically for better visibility around corners.
New technologies enhance the performance of security
Hyundai keeping the focus on the provision of security technologies first, Genesis boasts world-class active and passive safety features to help both to prevent accidents and to maximize the well-being of its occupants in event of a collision. Genesis continues the tradition Hyundai key standardization rescue safety technology such as electronic stability control (ESC), eight airbags and head restraints electronic assets.
Genesis' total of eight airbags before advanced include dual airbags, front and rear seat - mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted side curtain airbags for both front and rear seat occupants side.
An electronic version active head restraint system debut on the 2009 Hyundai Genesis. Hyundai is the first popular brand to offer electronic headrest before assets, an improvement over the head mechanically based active restraint systems. So far, active head restraints mail could not be found on some Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus models. Supports headers before assets were tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety to help prevent whiplash.
Genesis has a total of 8 ultrasonic sensors located on the front bumper and rear. The sensors as well as safeguarding rearview camera how help detect when objects are close parking. The distance is shown on the screen in-dash and are accompanied by an audible warning tone.
Prospectives radar is used in Genesis "Smart Cruise Control system. Smart Cruise Control adjusts the vehicle's speed to maintain the distance between the vehicle ahead in the same direction.
Genesis is brought to the ruling by the big four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist and the electronic brake distribution (EBD). The 12 .6-inch front rotors have a single floating piston calipers and rear brakes feature 12.4-inch rotors with a single piston on the V6 models. Twin-piston and larger rotors are presented on V8 models.
